Introduction

Italian beer is mainly pale lager, but there are a number of quality brands of craft beers,  typically produced by microbreweries that can be found in geographycal delimited regions.

A microbrewery is a small brewery, generally producing fewer than 10,000 barrels of beer and ale a year and frequently selling its products on the premises.

In recent years a considerable number of these microbreweries of very high quality have spread throughout Italy increasing the originally mean low quality of italian beers.
